This cover for Wallestein 55 (1978) features an element inspired by a scene from the 1978 film "Inglorious Bastards". Some would say it's "stolen" or "copied" but those would be unfitting terms. Alessandro Biffignandi imbued a greater beauty to his interpretation than the inspiring image. Therein lies the definition or artistry. To see a scan of the original art and more of Biffignandi's work check out Gallery 1.

Irina ionesco in italian comics

This is the cover to Oltretomba Gigante #81 (1980). Further down is source material used by the artist, Otello Mauro Innocenti, to create this cover art. It is a photo by the infamous photographer Irina Ionesco. Fumetti artists frequently used found source materials for their cover art which resulted in so many pop culture references from the obscure to the super famous. I'm curious to know if the woman in the photo is Irina herself since she often modeled for herself and it does bear a resemblance to her. Anyone know?
